Short Courses & Lectures: Concessions

Eligibility

You can apply for a concession if you are:

  • a Senior/age 60+

  • a full time student in further or higher education, aged 18+

  • Unemployed and/or receiving certain benefits and looking for work

To receive a concession, you must show proof of your eligibility.

 

How much is the discount?

Each concession provides a 15% discount.

How to show proof of eligibility:

To receive a concession, you must show proof of eligibility.

Acceptable evidence includes:

Seniors/60+ ID stating your full name and date of birth such as a driver’s license or passport, a Freedom Pass
Full-time student – Any official correspondence from UCAS, your school or a student loan company that states your name and the institution
– Documentation that states you do not pay council tax or receive a discount on council tax due to student status.
– An NUS, International Student ID card or equivalent identification
Unemployed/in receipt of benefits Award letter or bank statement showing payment (within the last 3 months) for:
– Jobseekers allowance
– Employment Support Allowance
– Universal Credit
– Income support
– Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or Personal Independence Pay (PIP)
– Housing Benefit
– Incapacity Benefit
– Carer’s Allowance

What happens after applying?

A member of staff will check your application for eligibility. We may follow up with you if we have any questions about the submission.

Once confirmed, we will email you a discount code to use when making your booking.

Terms & Conditions:

  • Discounts cannot be combined.

  • Discounts cannot be applied retroactively. We regret that we cannot issue refunds for bookings made without using the discount code.

  • Course fees must be paid at the time of enrolment to secure your place. We are unable to reserve any places.

  • There may be a separate cost for materials.

    • You may be asked to source some materials for yourself, such as paintbrushes.

    • For courses with exceptionally high materials costs, we may charge a small materials fee. The concession is not applicable to this fee.

    • Where this is applicable, it is explained in the course description on the website. We endeavour to post lists that are as accurate as possible, but may add to it when required.

  • Some courses may be exempt from this discount.

  • All students must be at least 18 years old at the start of the course.

  • All our other normal terms and conditions apply.
