Icherisheher Centre for Traditional Arts recently launched two new collections in a media event that brought together distinguished guests including various ministries, public figures from the arts, entrepreneurs, and representatives of the media. These new lines offer contemporary responses to the rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan in the form of beautiful handmade products in batik, jewellery, wood, and ceramics.

The presentation of the Sheki and Qarabagh collections took place on the rooftop of historic and recently renovated Adbin House in the Old City of Baku, once home to famous author Mir Jalal Pashayev, grandfather of Azerbaijan’s First Lady.

Director of Icherisheher Administration, Asgar Alekbarov, celebrated the successful partnership with the Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, the history of ICTA and its brand “Dastan”. He also honoured the School’s work over the years to develop a highly skilled team of local designers and makers of handcrafted items.
