Exhibition: Revealing & Concealing, 14 – 15 March 2025

February 25, 2025

Arts practice as research in iconography

This exhibition explores the Traditional Art of Iconography and the ways in which two researchers are exploring the interplay of revealing and concealing, through different areas of specialism. There are many ways in which these interconnected mystical processes could be approached. Here the conversations and the practice interrogate the way the Iconostasis conceals to reveal, and the ways in which early female saints’ icons hide their secrets in plain sight. There will be the opportunity to see how icon panel boards are made and talk about iconography more broadly.
