About the artist

Passant’s background in Origami and three-dimensional paper artwork is clearly visible in her ceramics. Instead of using plaster models she used sand-filled paper models, resulting in her final piece: a ceramic panel inspired by geometric grids. The three-dimensional and slightly raised tiles are grouped together into a panel that reminds the viewer of historic ceramic dados and contemporary paper artwork at the same time. Similar geometric forms can be found in Passant’s second graduation project: a group of playful ceramic plant containers.
