ABOUT THE ARTIST

Nourhan is an illustrator who has always been passionate about painting, and was keen to understand the language of traditional geometry and the principles behind intricate geometric patterns, grids, and compositions. She thus joined the programme with these goals, as well as an interest in working on product design. Nourhan was deeply engaged and loved each and every geometric pattern she was able to draw or analyse. After she graduates, Nourhan aims to begin her own business of creating lighting units – as such, she produced a lighting feature for her final graduation project that was inspired by the intricate carvings found on Mamluk brass trays.
