ABOUT THE ARTIST

Mohamed El Shamy came to the programme with prior experience in ceramics and training in various ceramic techniques. He aimed to further develop his understanding of the craft and learn more about the language of traditional arts. Over the course of the two-year programme, he refined his drawing and craft skills significantly. His greatest achievement was his graduation project – a ceramic tile panel using the cuerda seca technique.
