Mariam Anwar (Woodwork)

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Mariam is trained in animation, but also has extensive experience with handicrafts such as decorative painting on furniture. She founded her own brand 6 years ago, where she successfully sells her artwork online and through galleries. In our program, Mariam specialized in woodwork and found an instant connection with the egg tempera painting technique, which she fell in love with and implemented in her graduation project. Following her graduation, Mariam plans to concentrate on traditional patterns and motifs in her artwork. In addition, with her newfound technical craft skills she aims to now build her own furniture pieces which she can then adorn with her paintings.
