Hadia el Masry (Ceramics)
About the artist
During the traditional arts and crafts programme Hadia developed her fine brushwork and professional design skills through an in-depth exploration of floral patterns. Her ceramic plates and bowls are made using Lajvardina, a technique requiring numerous over glaze firings. Hadia’s graduation project includes a painted ceramic panel illustrating several birds, inspired by a Persian manuscript. The ceramic panel depicts a balanced composition of a group of hoopoes resting on a tree. The deep blue background highlights the intricate details of the painted birds and leaves.
