Amira Khaled (Ceramics)

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Amira previously studied Applied Arts (Graphic Design) and worked professionally as a graphic designer before coming to the programme, seeking to develop her passion and skills in traditional arts instead. She spent time learning Persian miniature painting and illumination, and was particularly interested in decorative floral patterns and zoomorphic forms. For her final project, she produced artwork on ceramic tiles that depicted animals and birds intertwined together on a floral grid. Amira’s work prepares her for her own business, in which she will incorporate ceramic work in addition to paintings.
