About

The ruling pen was once an essential tool, found in nearly every drafting set and widely used for technical drawing. Today, however, it’s largely forgotten. In this session, we aim to revive the ruling pen and show you how it can become a valuable part of your artistic toolkit.

Traditionally, the ruling pen was used to draw precise straight lines in ink, but it can actually be used with any other liquid pigment. During our session, we’ll explore different types of ruling pens, demonstrate how to use them, and cover essential tips for maintaining, cleaning, and sharpening your pen.

We’ll also discuss why a cheap, modern ruling pen might not deliver the results you expect.
